PUR Edge Banding Hot Melt Adhesive Precautions and Recommendations
Temperature & Humidity Control:
PUR is a moisture-curing reactive hot melt adhesive. The chemical reaction process is irreversible and influenced by ambient temperature, humidity, and application temperature.
• Optimal ambient temperature: 18-32°C
• Optimal ambient humidity: 40%-70%
• Time for PUR hot melt adhesive to reach 100% curing is typically 3-7 days
Glue Application:
1. Positional Relationship Between the Glue Roller and the Glue Application Surface
① Adjust the position of the glue application baffle (guide iron)
② The optimal gap between the glue application surface and the glue roller is 0.1mm
2. Adjust the Appropriate Glue Application Amount
① Glue application amount:
160~180g/m² (particleboard)
130~160g/m² (plywood, MDF)
② Too little glue affects peel strength; too much glue causes contamination
Pressing:
① Press roller pressure: 1.5~3.5bar
② Press roller maintains rebound; optimal movement range of 2mm
③ Press roller remains vertical overall; use conical rollers in special cases
