On the morning of September 3, the grand ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was held at Tiananmen Square in Beijing. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, delivered an important speech and reviewed the troops. The ceremony included a grand military parade of about 70 minutes, conducted in two stages: the review and the march-past. With this grand military parade, we commemorate this great day together with the people of the world.
Amidst the stirring military music, President Xi rode along the broad Chang'an Avenue, reviewing the foot formations and equipment formations in turn. The troops under review were impeccably turned out and in high spirits; the armored combat vehicles were arrayed in perfect formation, awe-inspiring and majestic. As the review vehicle slowly advanced, the soldiers' eyes followed closely. "Greetings, comrades!" "Comrades, you have worked hard!" Xi Jinping's cordial greetings boosted morale.
