Veneer glue, as the name suggests, is an adhesive product used to bond surface materials. There are various veneer materials, such as wood veneer, PVC film, wood-grain paper, etc. In the woodworking industry, veneer glue or veneering adhesive generally refers to the adhesive used for bonding wood veneer. For a long time, urea-formaldehyde resin adhesive has been favored by the woodworking industry and has developed rapidly due to its high bonding strength and water resistance, as well as its milky white or colorless transparent appearance that does not stain wood bonded products.

To date, urea-formaldehyde resin adhesives still dominate wood adhesives and are the largest-used adhesive type globally. Typically, urea-formaldehyde resin glue for wood veneer is bonded by hot pressing. Attention must be paid to the moisture content, precision, pressing time, pressing pressure and temperature, and assembly time of the substrate and veneer. In recent years, due to increasingly higher global demands for environmental protection, the combination of EPI polyvinyl acetate emulsion with isocyanate curing agent has also been increasingly used for wood veneer applications.

With the growing scarcity of solid wood resources and relatively high costs for solid wood materials and transportation, wood veneer products are increasingly appearing in home products such as furniture, wardrobes, flooring, etc.

One-shot mixing formula

One-shot mixing formula:

605/602 : water : PF60 : H1683

= 100 : 60 : 20 : 25

E1 formaldehyde emission standard formula, highest waterproof and heat-resistant grade for flooring. Long open time, good initial tack, high solids content, good anti-deformation formula. Suitable for multi-layer engineered wood flooring hot-press processing.

AB glue formula

AB glue formula:

Glue A: 605/602 : water : PF60 : MA461L

= 100 : 45 : 20 : 16

Glue B: 8260 : water

= 100 : 70

When using, A : B = 100 : 20 (weight ratio)

E1 formaldehyde emission standard formula, passes flooring boiling test strength standard. Long open time, good initial tack, high solids content, low deformation coefficient. Suitable for large-scale multi-layer engineered wood flooring lamination hot-press production process.

= 100 : 10 : 10 : 15 : 0.5 (weight ratio)

E1 formaldehyde emission standard formula, D3 and above waterproof grade. Suitable for hot-press veneering of various wood veneer sheets, good bonding strength and physical properties, low-cost formula. (607, shelf life 30 days at 25°C ambient)

Powder glue formula 1

Powder glue formula 1:

605/602 : water : 707 : H6038

= 1 : 1 : 1 : 1 (weight ratio)

E1 formaldehyde emission standard formula, D3 and above waterproof grade. Suitable for rapid hot-press veneering of various wood veneer sheets, good bonding strength, fast curing with high production efficiency, relatively simple operation. Suitable for short-cycle rapid hot presses/membrane presses for wood veneer applications.

= 100 : 55 : 20 : 45 (weight ratio)

E1 environmental protection formula, D3 and above waterproof grade, suitable for hot-press veneering of various wood veneer sheets, long open time, suitable for multi-opening hot press applications, good initial tack. Good bonding strength, relatively simple mixing operation.

One-component powder glue formula

One-component powder glue formula:

PG641 : water = 100 : (40～60)

E1/E0 environmental protection formula, D3 and above waterproof grade, suitable for hot-press veneering of various wood veneer sheets, easy operation. Suitable for multi-opening hot press applications. Long open time, good initial tack. Fast curing speed.

AB glue formula

E1/E0 environmental protection formula, D3 and above waterproof grade. Suitable for mass production hot-press flat veneering of various wood veneer sheets, long open time. Fast curing, very good bonding strength, suitable for multi-opening hot presses/rapid short-cycle hot presses/membrane presses for wood veneer processing.

PG85/PG85HV

D3 and above waterproof grade one-component water-based adhesive, suitable for hot-press veneering/membrane press wood veneer of various wood veneer sheets without parquetry processes. Features: fast curing, 110°C/50 seconds, low application rate 85g±5g/m². Physical properties pass climate simulation, climate chamber moisture resistance testing, and comply with IKEA chemical standards.

PG660/PG661

D2/D3 waterproof grade one-component water-based adhesive. Suitable for hot-press veneering/membrane press wood veneer of various wood veneer sheets without parquetry processes, long open time, good initial tack, suitable for multi-opening hot press applications, fast curing speed. Complies with IKEA chemical standards. Passes climate simulation testing.

L560S/L563

One-component modified PVA emulsion, used with 3%～5% C22 curing agent, D3 and above waterproof grade. Suitable for hot-press veneering/membrane press wood veneer of various wood veneer sheets without parquetry processes, suitable for short-cycle rapid hot presses for wood veneer. Fast curing speed with high efficiency, physical properties pass various climate simulation tests. Complies with IKEA chemical standards.

PG327

D2/D3 waterproof grade one-component high-viscosity high-solids water-based adhesive, suitable for hot-press veneering of various wood veneer sheets, long open time, good initial tack, no bleed-through, fast curing speed, suitable for multi-opening hot presses and short-cycle hot presses for rapid wood veneer application.

If you are doing manual wood veneer bonding, we recommend:

5160/5176

One-component high-quality water-based adhesive, special formula, specifically designed for manual process hot bonding of wood veneer sheets. Good initial tack. Fast heat reaction. Easy operation. For 0.4mm～0.6mm wood veneer sheets, good initial tack at around 70°C hot activation during manual hot bonding. Final bonding strength meets veneering process requirements.

9601/9603

One-component high-quality water-based adhesive, suitable for manual bonding of wood veneer sheets with thickness below 0.4mm, good initial tack, uniform heat reactivity, easy operation. Final bonding strength meets veneering process requirements.

If your wood veneer is very special and requires flattening and softening, we recommend:

PG20

Used for softening and flattening wood veneer sheets. Applied to species with uneven thickness such as bird's-eye maple and figures, like camphor burl, poplar burl, and wood veneer sheets prone to waviness when drying. Applied to easily cracked wood species during veneer pressing, such as crotch mahogany veneer, it has good flattening effects to eliminate veneer cracking phenomena after hot pressing, enhancing and stabilizing product quality.

If you need wood veneer parquetry paper tape/veneer stitching glue thread/threadless stitching glue powder, we recommend:

Water-activated paper tape

Professional water-activated paper tape for wood veneer parquetry, less likely to leave water tape marks. Available in perforated and non-perforated types, various specifications and sizes.

Threadless stitching glue powder: NH16/NH16H

Suitable for Kuper, Fisher, Ruckle, Longde, Tiege threadless veneer stitching machines, fast curing speed, does not stick to the heating plate. Waterproof, heat-resistant, solvent-resistant. Completely eliminates quality issues after veneer stitching.

KUPER Germany original stitching glue thread: 1220/2210

Fine thread, strong bonding, uniform melting with low risk of breakage, less prone to "Z"-shaped thread phenomena.
