The summer in Guangdong is still ongoing, while Mohe in the northern part of Heilongjiang Province, China, has already experienced its first snowfall of the year. The temperature difference between the north and south is so huge that furniture factories in different regions face different problems, such as wood processing and the use of adhesives, which are affected by temperature and vary accordingly. So how should splicing glue be used in different seasons, and what are the precautions? Experts in IWG splicing glue have listed some precautions for using glue in winter and summer.

How to better use panel glue when there is a large temperature difference between winter and summer

When the temperature is above 30 ℃ in summer, due to the high temperature, the reaction speed between the curing agent and the glue will accelerate and produce a large number of bubbles. Moreover, as the temperature rises, the surface of the glue is prone to skinning, so it is necessary to increase the coating amount of the glue by 10%. When the temperature rises to 35 ℃, the viscosity of the glue will quickly increase, making it easy to form a film on the surface and dry bonding. It is recommended to increase the coating amount by 20% or use double-sided coating and immediately assemble after coating. When the temperature is high in summer, do not leave it in the air for more than two minutes after coating, and inspect the adhesive surface to ensure that it is moist and does not form a layer of adhesive.

In winter, when the temperature is between 0-10 ℃, the bonding workplace should be heated, and the low cold pressure operation temperature should be above 5 ℃; When the temperature is below 20 ℃, the amount of curing agent added should be appropriately increased to ensure it is between 13% -15%, and the cold pressing time should be extended. The standard glue application amount is 220 (winter) to 280 (summer) g/m2, and attention should be paid to the even distribution without missing glue or applying too much glue locally.
