Common problem analysis
What are the reasons why solid wood door edges are prone to bubbling or peeling?
Main cause analysis
• The moisture content of solid wood door edge material is higher than 16%;
• The selection of edge sealing hot melt adhesive parameters does not meet the process requirements;
• The edge banding is too thick, resulting in high subsequent stress. The strength of the edge banding hot melt adhesive cannot meet the changes in solid wood stress
Solution
• The moisture content of solid wood door edge material should be controlled at<12%;
• Due to the thickness and length of wooden doors, there are high requirements for the dissolution rate of hot melt adhesive, adhesion to solid wood, and heat resistance. Therefore, it is crucial to choose suitable hot melt adhesive products for application;
• It is recommended that the edge banding of wooden doors should not exceed 2mm. If it is necessary to use solid wood edge banding with a thickness of 2mm or more, it is recommended to use other processes and adhesive types instead of hot melt glue, as the strength cannot meet the requirements of solid wood stress changes, which can easily lead to edge detachment in the later stage.
What are the methods for quickly fitting wooden door decorative lines without nailing?
Cause and solution of the problem
• The moisture content of the wood veneer is too high. After the edge banding is left in the air for a period of time, the wood veneer absorbs moisture. The glue will cool rapidly when it encounters water during the edge banding operation, shortening the opening time of the glue or causing the wood veneer and non-woven fabric to separate due to high moisture content; The traditional method for decorating solid wood doors with decorative lines is to use ordinary latex and nail to fix them together before painting, which is time-consuming in terms of processing. If PUR hot melt adhesive 60300 is used, it can be painted and then bonded without the need for nailing. Due to the strong initial adhesion, fast curing speed, final heat resistance, and good bonding strength of PUR hot melt adhesive, it is very suitable for improving the application of this process and increasing the timeliness.
