Five elements for using hot melt adhesive, professional analysis of IWG heat-resistant adhesive

What are the five elements of using hot melt adhesive and what should be paid attention to? Let IWG analyze for you.

1、 Confirm that the working temperature is the temperature required by the manufacturer

Due to the fact that hot melt adhesives are classified into high temperature, medium temperature, and low temperature, it is necessary to determine the recommended hot melt adhesive for customers based on the operating temperature of their machines, in order to meet the requirements of machine operation and meet the standards for customer use.

2、 Regularly clean the melt adhesive tank

Due to prolonged operation, the edge banding machine will accumulate a certain amount of residual glue in the melt adhesive tank. If not cleaned regularly, it will cause glue sticking, affecting the edge banding effect and resulting in certain losses.

3、 The glue coating device should avoid excessive wind

After the hot melt adhesive melts, it flows out of the glue can during the bonding process. If there is a draft wind passing through, it will instantly lower the temperature of the glue, causing it to solidify in a difficult to detect manner, thereby reducing the viscosity and strength of the glue and affecting the edge sealing effect. Therefore, the placement of the glue coating device should avoid places where draft winds pass through.

4、 The humidity of wood should be below 10% and the temperature should be above 15 ℃

The humidity of wood is too high or too low; Low temperature will lower the temperature of the adhesive, causing mild curing, affecting the bonding strength of the adhesive and reducing its viscosity, resulting in adhesive cracking.

5、 The edge sealing material used should avoid dust

The environment in the operation room itself cannot avoid dust flying. If the edge sealing material still has dust, it will inadvertently form gaps between the adhesive and the material, causing insufficient adhesion between the adhesive and the material, affecting the edge sealing strength, and resulting in adhesive failure.
